In the heart of Pantelleria's volcanic landscape, the island situated between Sicily and Africa, Abbazia San Giorgio was established in 2015. Founded by Battista Belvisi, Beppe Fontana, and Pina Passarello, the company started with a limited production of 4,000 bottles of wine and has grown significantly over the years. It now produces about 20,000 bottles while steadfastly maintaining its core values: respect for the land, combined with passion and dedication to preserving its traditions.

Today, the vineyards cover about 7 hectares of land, fragmented into small plots scattered across the island, mostly located on the southeastern side of Pantelleria, embraced by the sunny slopes of Khamma. Dominated by old Zibibbo bush vines with their golden clusters, the vineyards also include other varieties such as Catarratto, Nerello Mascalese, Pignatello, and Alicante, each adding their unique flavors to the Mediterranean symphony.

In the vineyard, where nature sets the rules, the approach follows biodynamic farming practices. Chemical pesticides and fungicides do not disturb the delicate balance of the land, and the use of chemical fertilizers is prohibited. Weed control is managed through ground cover. Fertilized by spring cover crops and caressed by the sea breeze, the grape clusters mature slowly, accumulating the pure essence of the island.

In the cellar, indigenous yeasts guide the fermentation process without the need for additives or manipulations, including sulfur dioxide. The result is a pure, authentic wine that captures the soul of Pantelleria, delivering an explosion of flavors in every sip.
